Zecharia Artstein was born in Pruszkow. A Dror activist, he organized self-defense cells in the movement's farm in Czerniakow. During the Insurrection, he was in command of a combat unit and died in the sewers on 8 May 1943.
He was 20. Zivia Lubetkin described him as one of the bravest JFO fighters.
